Hydraulic Technician

Location: Savage, MN

Hydraulic Technician 

SunSource, headquartered in Addison, Illinois (a suburb of Chicago), is one of North Americaís leading fluid power distribution companies, providing products, services and information in hydraulics, pneumatics, filtration, automation systems, and related industrial components, serving both the industrial, OEM, MRO, and mobile equipment markets.  We are currently seeking an experienced Hydraulic Technician for our Service Center located in Savage, MN.

The primary responsibility of the Hydraulic Technician is to service and repair various pumps, motors, & hydrostatic transmissions

  • Disassembled components and identify root cause of failure
  • Diagnose problems and give recommendations for repairs
  • Inspect various components to determine if rework or replacement is needed
  • Assemble units according to manufacturer specifications
  • Test repaired unit using manufacturer test specifications
  • Make necessary adjustments to repaired unit.

The qualified individual will have the following skills and experience: 

  • 1 to 3 years in fluid power service and repair experience preferred, which includes hydraulic trouble shooting, tear downs and assembly. 
  • Must have a basic understanding working with the hand tools and shop tools
  • Minimum H.S. diploma/G.E.D. required. 2-year fluid power associates degree or formal training in related field or a suitable combination of related training and work experience is preferred
  • Able to stand 95 to 100% of the workday
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Valid driverís license
  • Ability to read schematics preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude, ability to disassemble & assemble mechanical devices competently.
  • Analytical thinker, builds logical approach to tasks.
  • Must have basic hand tools
  • Basic computer knowledge
