Account Manager - Ford-Gelatt

Department: Sales - Fluid Process
Location: Baton Rouge, LA

Ford Gelatt, a SunSource company, is a leader in the distribution of fluid power and fluid processing components offering value added services such as design, fabrication, engineering, and service & repair.  We are currently seeking an Account Manager to service a territory based in our authorized repair center located Baton Rouge, LA.  

In this position you will be supporting our customer's fluid process service and repair and refurbishment needs and will also develop new sales of process equipment (pumps, mixers, mechanical seals, filters, customer systems) by providing engineered solutions to customers needs for new process equipment and service & repair. You will be supported by our highly knowledgeable customer service team and supportive managers who will assist you in meeting and exceeding your sales goals.

To achieve success in this role you must have solid time management and organizational skills along with your self-motivated, competitive and entrepreneurial spirit.


  • 2 year Technical, Industrial and or Engineering degree or any suitable combination of education, training and experience; 4 year engineering degree preferred
  • 3-5 + years increasing technical sales experience, with at least 3 years selling fluid process equipment, fluid handling and/or process with a focus on service & repair of equipment, maintenance and warranty programs (centrifugal pumps, seals, gear boxes, vacuum pumps & compressors, etc.)
  • Experience calling in to chemical plants, refineries, and paper mills in the Baton Rouge area essential
  • Experience with value add sales
  • Ability to establish and build business relationships
  • Can achieve and exceed sales goals
  •  Valid driverís license
